In ancient Greek religion and mythology, Pan is the god of the wilderness and forests, shepherds and flocks and companion of the nymphs. He has the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat and is often affiliated with sex. Because of this, he is connected to fertility and the season of spring.

This portrait of the God, inspired by a classical statue and several mosaics of him,  is entirely made of glass tesserae.
