Notre Dame de Paris has no mosaics but it was built on top of 4th and 6 th centuries basilicas decorated with them. Some of fragments were unearthed during archaeological digs on the parvis Notre Dame.
the mosaic of the four seasons decorates the triclinium of the house of Dyonisus in Volubilis, Morocco. It is composed of 3 parts. At the entrance to the room, 2 apotropaic Gorgons ward off the indelicate guests and evil eye. A unique composition of Dionysian and seasonal themes ornates the center of the room, while a wide geometric border is set on the space where the banquet’s bed would be set.
