Julie was a very interesting piece to create, particularly challenging were the reflections in the water.It is interesting to realize you do not need glass to render this kind of effect and light.
No glass was involved in Julie. I only used ceramics and stone.
This of course reduces the range of colors available. Bit it is also much more in line with the traditional Roman mosaics I love so much. (The Romans used little glass in there mosaics before the Byzantine period.) .
